This last month last flown by but it’s great to still be able to enjoy such good weather We have continued to play blows in the lounge and this has seen most residents taking part, a good competitiveness coming out. Don is able to put a spin on his bowl so looks like we might have to introduce cricket to the summer activities.
We have celabrated birthdays with Linda and Tonikj, cake and afternoon tea was enjoyed by all. We also want to welcome Pat Houghton to Wharekaka.
Bell street kindergaten made a lovely visit with songs and dance ,they also paired up with the residents for a game of bowls, prior to this they took part in a joint Mother day activity.
Lance Naysmith continues to entertain us with his music and had residents and Corlette on the dance floor. Happy Hour is held the last Friday of the month along with a sing a long with music by Martin Lawance.
There is a mid winter lunch planned for next month and a raffle of a lap quilt at the door, thanks Ray for making this, dont forget to purchase a ticket
Its been great having the van back on the road and weekly outings have seen us drive through the Ponatihi ,Carterton a trip out to Longbush, Tauherenikau, Greytown and Lake Ferry. The Auxiliary have been busy with organising outing to to the Majors Home in Greytown lunch at Carolyn Thompsons home and morning tea for the villa residents .
At present Wharekaka is undergoing building works due to the new hospital rooms so things are busy. Special thanks to the South Wairarapa Rotary for the most generous donation of funding a new hospital bed .
