The year in review saw many changes within the Brigade. Garry Jackson made the difficult decision to retire from the position of Chief Fire Officer after 22 years in the role. This year our annual garage sale was on a Sunday and were very pleased with the turnout, lots of bargains snapped up. Although there seemed a lot of children’s clothes and items left over we were glad to be able to donate what wasn’t sold to a Wairarapa group called Little Bundles, who make up bundles of warm good quality items to give away for new mums.

The Melbourne Cup in all its 18 carat gold glory was on display at the Wharekaka Aged Care Facility on Sunday the 27th of July, just one of many stops on this years Emirates Melbourne Cup Tour.
