The Tuturumuri School is open and looking for some pupils to join them for Term one in 2018.
The Community would dearly love to see the classrooms filled with enquiring young minds so that future generations including tomorrows leaders can experience our schools special character learning both inside and outside the classroom.
The Board of Trustees and Staff has the backing of the locals who have pulled out all the stops to ensure the school remains open and is appealing to the wider Community to consider sending their children to our small but very well resourced school.
The Board of Trustees have through prudent management have monies set aside for the purchase of a bus if need be to transport the children from Martinborough to Tuturumuri to fill the void of the intergenerational gap.
This is a wonderful opportunity not to be missed, if you would like your child to immerse themselves and learn in a truly rural setting, the School boasts an indoor swimming pool, tennis court, organic vegetable gardens, great student to teacher ratios with abundant resources delivered by passionate teachers and zero fees then really you need to take the time to check out Tuturumuri school and discuss with the staff what we can offer, including transport options for your young ones.
Together with the BOT the Tuturumuri School Community warmly invites all parents with Primary school and pre-schoolers along to our Open Day on Sunday 10th December between 10am to Midday or call to make an appointment on 06 3078110, email: office@tuturumuri.school.nz

The 150 Ha wetland project is beginning to attract many of the country’s endangered species and provide them a safe refuge. This initiative, coupled with Whio breeding and bittern studies is making a huge positive impact on endangered waterfowl species. … Continue Reading
The Martinborough Red Cross put on its annual ‘Spring Party’ at the end of September for local [mostly!] elderly residents. This long-standing traditional ‘feast’ proved once again to be popular, even with regulars (and ‘staff’) who have been coming for many years. Thanks to the ‘Lions’, who agreed to lend out their den, the Group had the use of a lovely venue which looked very festive.
Guests were welcomed with a drink or two of choice before sitting and catching up with friends or new people. We (‘staff’ as well) then got down to the serious business of playing BINGO – a long-standing tradition on these occasions – with mystery parcel prizes to lucky winners of ‘ a line’ or ‘a house’! The game is always enjoyed and usually requested by potential guests; so the Red Cross is very thankful to expert ‘caller’ Val Johns.
The party was completed with a cuppa and some delightful ‘home baking’ including Dawn Hartnell’s legendary chocolate éclairs.
No doubt the success of this annual occasion again means it will be considered on the agenda for next year. It’s not a fund-raiser, just a way of showing ‘we care’. We at the Martinborough Red Cross Group would like to thank our guests for coming and hope to see you again soon.
