Junior netball

September 21, 2016 September 2016 Comments Off on Junior netball

Junior-netball-photo Southern Netball have had a great season. We are now in the business end of the season with some of our teams making semi finals next weekend.

We were involved in another successful fundraiser provided by the Pukemanu Pig Hunting Competition. The girls cooked and sizzled sausages and venison burgers.

Many thanks for the support from the Pukemanu tavern, the pig hunters who supported us and our volunteer parents and players that cooked and played cashier.

Another thanks to Mitre 10 for the use of their BBQ.
We have prize giving in the next couple of weeks, so we will keep you posted on cup winners next issue.

I know many of you have been suffering as well and we have been in super antiseptic mode wiping down the computers and door handles regularly just to help stem the flow.  At least it will soon be on the way out.  … Continue Reading

Coming up with fresh ideas that will actually be eaten is easier said than done, especially if you’re not bowing to the chippie and chocolate demands! And adult lunchboxes don’t need to get stuck in a rut too, so we have put together some simple, fast and tasty ideas to bring new life to the often dreaded lunchbox.

First of all, what makes a healthy lunchbox? A variety of foods from the different food groups to provide a range of nutrients is key. Each lunchbox should ideally contain: fruit, vegetables, protein foods, wholegrains and healthy fats. The exact amount of each depends on the needs of the person eating it – some people need more vegetables and fats in their lunchbox, while active individuals may need more wholegrains to fuel their muscles. … Continue Reading
