WE LOVE receiving reader’s photos for publication. However photos taken by iPad or mobile phones are not suitable. While these may have good resolution the detail is not sharp enough to give a nice clear result on newsprint.

RIO BOSWELL competed in the National Pokemon Championships in Auckland where he won the Junior Championships for the second year in a row. As his prize Rio will now travel to Melbourne to compete there.

EMILY GOODMAN’s Skoolbro Numeracy Challenge win was for tickets to the Ice Age Live show, including meet and greet the cast.

We hope you have been enjoying what is arguably the best summer in the best part of the country… .the Wairarapa. A lot of families will be enjoying soaking up the sun and water at our local pool which is having record numbers use it.

There are a lot of things happening in our little village over the next few weeks, and Martinborough Plunket will be there too, so mark your calendars. As you will surely know, the Martinborough Fair is the first weekend in Feb. As usual, in the town hall we will have our Mothers Room set up in the supper room. Tell all your friends who are coming from out of town this day if they need a quite space to rest, feed and change baby’s nappy or just relax, they can pop around the back of the hall as we have a space set up for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds.
