Southern Netball sprung into action for another season on a bright blue winter’s morning on Saturday7th May. Everyone is enthusiastic about how the season has begun, following a few gatherings and practices the junior teams were played their first games.

The team on May Anna’s fourteenth birthday


Martinborough Junior Hockey has made a positive start to the 2016 season. We have 50 members this year, mostly from Martinborough School, with three 6-aside teams and two 11-aside teams entered in the primary competition at Clareville.
So far, our 1st XI team remains unbeaten in the B grade with convincing wins against Coasties Green (12-0), Hadlow 2nd XI (8-1) and Kahutara 1st XI (6-1). The team’s goalie, Delta Hutchings, attended a goalie clinic run by Hockey Wairarapa and the team is already reaping the benefit from the skills and confidence she gained at the course. Jamie McLeod continues to be a dominant force; you do not want to be in the firing line of his penalty strike! The Martinborough Black team plays in the 11-aside C grade on Saturday mornings and our three 6-aside teams (varying in age from years 1 to 5) are spread across all grades. … Continue Reading
