Day one. Toby and John about to set off from Cape Reinga.

On 19th February Toby Sutherland and John Taylor set of to ride their bikes from Cape Reinga to the Bluff, a distance of over 3,000 kms. The route they are following is one devised by Johnathon Kennett as ‘Tour Aotearoa’, one of the World’s great bike rides. The route encompasses a combination of cycle tracks, paths and lanes connected by enjoyable country roads.

Toby and John are receiving sponsors for the ride with the raised funds going to Cat Walk Trust and Light Flight. Donations made be made through the Give a little website. Of the second recipient there is little doubt that everybody is aware of the work of Life Flight Trust. … Continue Reading

The day was of epic proportion, starting at 4am with athlete drop off and finishing at 10:30pm when our heads finally hit the pillow completely and utterly depleted, all of us, not just our contestant. We triumphed through all weather New Zealand could throw at us, particularly when crossing an entire mountain range on foot.  … Continue Reading

Golf pro-am success _ without clubhouse

By Karen Stephens A record field of 172 players, including 43 professionals from New Zealand and Australia, battled light winds, warm temperatures and even light early-morning fog at Martinborough golf’s 2024 CER Electrical and Holmes Construction pro-am on February 1. At least that was the range of excuses for some …
