In Good Voice

In-good-voice_webVicki Jones was the impetus behind a recent singing workshop held in the St Andrews church hall, which attracted about 35 people including members of the Martinborough Community Choir, the Featherston Gentlemen’s Choir, and others simply interested in singing. She said she likes to offer chances to sing in different ways and with different experts, and is trying to improve her own knowledge of singing.

Tony Backhouse is a leader in the Australasian a cappella singing movement. He has founded two gospel choirs in Sydney and has run vocal workshops since 1988 in many countries. Vicki says he “really knows his stuff” and is readily able to engage people. In two hours he had his group thoroughly relaxed and involved and they made a very fine sound to anyone passing outside.
