Men's-Shed-under-waySince the initial public meeting in June, The Martinborough Mens Shed membership has grown to 71 with more folks signing up as the word is spreading. With all this support, the Shed is quickly becoming a reality.

The purpose of the Martinborough Mens Shed is to provide a place for members to have access to machines and tools for their own projects but also to take part in projects for the community. There will be guidance and instruction on use of equipment allowing members to learn new skills of wood and metal working and other crafts and activities wanted by members. Not good enough

Not-good-enoughthis is how NZPost left the area it removed the post box from in Naples Street. I think it is very poor to leave the ground so it cannot even be mowed around.
It is also an accident waiting to happen re people tripping over it at night.
The least they should have done was remove the box and have the area returned to grass.

Shame on burglars

August 11, 2015 August 2015 Comments Off on Shame on burglars

Martinborough School was broken into over the last weekend of the school holidays. Two large Samsung televisions were taken – from rooms eight and nine.

Principal Craig Nelson said that it was really disappointing that people of the community feel the need to take resources and funding from children.

The school is having to buy new televisions as well as investing in security camera systems with the hope of returning any goods that may be removed in the future.
The school would welcome any support in finding the equipment or information which would help track down the people who have done this.
Room nine pupils expressed their thoughts which included: “Burglars – why would you want to steal Room eight and nine’s televisions when you can just work harder and earn yourself a TV. You just took away our learning”.
