Under The Martinborough Stars.

July 6, 2022 July 2022 Comments Off on Under The Martinborough Stars.

I’m Chris. I’m the new owner of Under The Stars. When I was 6 years old my dad kept me up late to see Halley’s Comet through binoculars and I’ve been fascinated by astronomy ever since.

I’m a collection of atoms that were once inside a star. So are you. There’s a chance that some of the atoms in you were created in the core of a different star, or stars, to the atoms currently forming me. Even as you read this there may be cosmic pieces of different origin between your left and right eye. Personally, I like to think that my star stuff came from pretty good stock. Stars were stars in those days and they really knew how to shine. … Continue Reading

The importance of information

July 6, 2022 July 2022 Comments Off on The importance of information

Due to government regulations there will be no Mayoral or Councillor columns until after the local body elections I.E. for three months. We are told that this is to ensure that standing members do not use any advantage of information which they may have over new candidates.

He has been very determined to resurrect the route up Winzenberg from the Holdsworth campground as a tramping possibility for local trampers, and has inspired and cajoled many others to help him in this task. Five track-clearing parties have worked hard cutting the route, and some keen track makers have made solo excursions. … Continue Reading

By Karen Stephens A record field of 172 players, including 43 professionals from New Zealand and Australia, battled light winds, warm temperatures and even light early-morning fog at Martinborough golf’s 2024 CER Electrical and Holmes Construction pro-am on February 1.
