People’s perception of chocolate changes when it is labelled as originating from different geographical regions according to a recent study by the journal Food Quality and preference.

Study participants tasted chocolate bars originating from US, Europe and Africa to evaluate taste and their willingness to pay for the product. Researchers found that subjective taste ratings improved in two of the three ratings when labels identifying the country of origin were included.
