July was certainly a cold and wet month with frosts and even snow in some areas. It seems the Grumpy’s and Thursday boys were the only ones who ventured out to play.
The 9 hole women have played only two out of the four weeks due to the bad weather and the 18 holers also suffered the same dismal conditions. The ‘Wakefield Bell’ has been given a spit and a polish as well as a new lanyard thanks to Shane Arndell and now that its origins are known it would seem a fitting time at resurrecting a team event between the Navy and members of the club.
