The Martinborough Bowling Club recently held their end of season gathering in the club’s Regent St rooms. Club President Peter ” Pedro ” McGillicuddy welcomed over 30 guests and reiterated the players thanks for their support throughout the 2015 bowling season.

Results of the club’s 2015 championships were declared as well as major achievements by members during the season. Club stalwart Peter “Rabbs ” Ireland was prolific in both club and tournament events winning singles ,pairs , triples and fours , as well as being in the winning team of the Greytown Fruit Bowl Triples. … Continue Reading

Our last three trips have been a little like a set of traffic lights. The Red (stop) trip was cancelled due to bad weather, and the Orange trip to Winzenburg Hill didn’t quite actually get there , although it got close and the intention is to repeat that trip in the future now the party knows where they went wrong.
The Green trip was all GO, with perfect weather, great views over a satiny smooth Wellington Harbour, and evidence of an obviously successful trapping session on Possums in the last few days. … Continue Reading

Martinborougnh Rugby Club_webOur JAB teams have begun their season, full of energy and enthusiasm. The Under 11 & Under 13 teams have each had their first games under lights at Memorial Park, this was pretty exciting for them, and great for the parents who didn’t have a pile of muddy clothes to deal with.

A huge thanks to all the parents, grandparents and caregivers that give up a chunk of their weekends to transport our kids around. We don’t have many home games but when we do they would love the support so come on down and show your support for our future Senior players. … Continue Reading
