The South Wairarapa schools were treated to a perfect mid winter day for their annual Cross Country competitions held, as usual, at Kahutara School’s challenging course.

A great week weather-wise and a fabulous day for the Grumpy’s with Bill Jones being the eventual winner on the day who is still playing under his age of 80.

The 9 holers have played their last qualifying round for the Howie Cup and the final will be played this week.
The 18 holers played a medal round and the winner was Sherry Weatherstone with a nett 72. Jenny Wilkie, Adele Cairns and Felicity Warren all finished with nett 73’s. Felicity, Sherry and Jude Gould all managed twos. … Continue Reading

The St John Wairarapa District held a very successful day at the Martinborough Golf Club on a Friday April 4th . Twenty nine teams played a four person Ambrose on a beautifully fine day.

Among the field were St John Central Manager, Eddie Jackson and Deputy Chairman of the Central Regional trust Board, Jeremy Stubb together with their wives.

The scores were very good with the winning team of Colin Whibley-Smith, Phill Collins, and Dayle Scrimshaw, all of the local club, supported by Simon Diplock of Carterton scoring 51,875. The prize went down to number 10 best net score who had 54.75. … Continue Reading
